DEWAR'S VR NOVEL STATUE
A Virtual Reality Sculpture Composed of Letters
Almost half of Japanese people didn’t read books in 2020, according to the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Government of Japan. One reason is that they are spoiled for their leisure time choices, e.g., connected TV, social media, online chat, online games, etc.
Under Dewar’s slogan “Stay Curious,” we released a novel that people could enjoy inside the online world where they already spend their time. To spark curiosity toward reading, we visualized the story as a virtual reality sculpture of a famous novelist made entirely of letters. This interactive sculpture encouraged people to read and served as a bold statement to welcome a new era of digital literature.
