From Empathy to Action: Empowering Engineers After the Big Layoffs in 2023

In 2023, widespread layoffs in the IT industry left many engineers in the United States feeling undervalued and uncertain about their future. During these challenging times, Kyocera launched the "We Love Engineers" campaign to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of engineers, who often work tirelessly behind the scenes without receiving the appreciation they deserve.

 

The campaign struck a powerful chord, resonating deeply with engineers and achieving a 600% increase in brand recall. But we didn’t stop there.

To further support the engineering community, we launched a dedicated media platform, offering resources, stories, and tools to inspire and empower engineers. This initiative showed how much Kyocera cares about supporting engineers in tough times.

 

In 2025, we expanded on this concept with a new ad campaign, continuing to highlight our respect for engineers and our belief in their critical role in shaping the future.
